Arizona State University to host 2019 Southwest Robotics Symposium

Arizona State University is hosting the 2019 Southwest Robotics Symposium Jan. 24-25, 2019, in Tempe, Arizona. The Southwest Robotics Symposium is a two-day event that will include five sessions, posters, lab tours and industry demos of advances in the field of robotics. Each session is focused on high-impact topics related to robotics and automation and will host talks from renowned researchers to discuss the state-of-the-art and future directions in robotics.

Invited speakers will come from all over the United States and include two highly distinguished plenary speakers, Ruzena Bajcsy of the University of California, Berkeley, and Oussama Khatib of Stanford University. Both these renowned scholars are fellows in the National Academy of Engineering among other prestigious professional organizations.

Symposium topics include:

  • multi-robot systems

  • bio-inspired robotics

  • robot learning and AI

  • autonomous robotic vehicles and planning

  • human-robot interaction

The free event will also include a wide range of distinguished robotics researchers. More information about the event, the agenda and the list of speakers is available on the 2019 Southwest Robotics Symposium webpage: https://swrobotics.engineering.asu.edu/

The event is open to researchers in the fields of robotics, automation, control and related fields, students in the fields of engineering, medicine and nursing, industry and technology investors, and the general public. While this event is free, registration is required for admittance to the symposium. Event registration is available at: https://swrobotics.engineering.asu.edu/2019-registration/

Those interested in presenting a poster at the event should submit details using the Abstract Submission Form: https://form.jotform.com/82608206947160.

Selected posters will be given three minutes each for oral (pitch) presentation during the event.
