Journalists can register now to attend (or receive news from) Europe’s largest congress on radiation oncology, ESTRO 38, organised by the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). It will take place in Milan, Italy, from 26-30 April 2019.
What is ESTRO 38?
The ESTRO 38 congress will feature new research results in clinical radiation oncology, radiobiology, physics, technology, patient care, radiation therapy and brachytherapy, presented by top doctors, scientists, radiation therapists and cancer nurses from all over the world, working together for the benefit of cancer patients. The congress theme is “Targeting optimal care, together”, as ESTRO is shining the spotlight on the multi-professional and multi-disciplinary aspects of radiation therapy.
The congress is expected to attract 6,000 delegates from more than 80 countries.
The congress will cover the entire spectrum of radiotherapy, both external beam and internal beam with brachytherapy, and highlight what is new across fields as diverse as:
- artificial intelligence: its role and potential in radiation oncology
- predictive models of toxicity and big data
- clinical trials for particle therapy
- radiotherapy biomarkers: a confluence of imaging, genetics and pathology
- are adolescents and young adults a specific population?
- inflammatory environmental factors and radiation response
- and many more.
