Jeri Francoeur of Ormond Beach, Florida, has been elected to a two-year term as chair of the Patient Advocacy Advisory Board (PAAB) for the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).

Francoeur has served as a member of the PAAB for five years and recently served a two-year term as vice chair. Her term as chair runs from July 2022 to June 2024. She represents the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation on the PAAB and is active with numerous other breast cancer advocacy organizations, including the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition, Francoeur has served as chair of the Medical Quality Assurance Board for the state of Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators. She is a two-time breast cancer survivor who also lost a close friend to the disease and is a passionate advocate for breast cancer research and funding, as well as patient education on treatment options.

The SNMMI PAAB is composed of representatives from 15 patient advocacy organizations across multiple disease types, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung disease, thyroid cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, heart disease, and others. Its purpose is to provide the SNMMI with a patient perspective for its activities and to engage and educate the patient community on the expanding role of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging in diagnosing and treating disease.
