Bill Gates and Francis Collins to speak at ASHG 2017

WHAT:

The Presidential Symposium at the American Society of Human Genetics 2017 Annual Meeting (ASHG 2017) will feature speakers Bill Gates, Co-chair and Trustee of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; and Francis Collins, MD, PhD, Director of the U.S. National Institutes of Health. This 90-minute symposium will address global health and genomics in an informal, conversational format.

"We look forward to welcoming these modern-day legends of health and science to the genetics community at ASHG, and sharing their perspectives with our members and attendees," said Nancy J. Cox, PhD, President of ASHG.

Peter C. Scacheri, PhD, chair of the ASHG 2017 Program Committee, added, "We are excited to engage with Dr. Collins and Mr. Gates on the latest breakthroughs, efforts, and challenges in our field, as well as explore future opportunities."
