ACC Cardiovascular Summit focuses on innovation and leadership strategies

CV Summit offers attendees novel business strategies to achieve the Quadruple Aim

The American College of Cardiology’s Cardiovascular Summit will take place Feb. 14-16, 2019 at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando, bringing together top experts to discuss and review innovative, relevant cardiovascular management and leadership strategies.

Howard T. Walpole Jr., MD, MBA, FACC will serve as the Cardiovascular Summit course director. ACC Past President Pamela Douglas, MD, MACC and ACC Board of Trustee member Cathleen Biga, MSN, RN will serve as co-directors of the conference, which will feature educational sessions prioritizing novel approaches for better care, smarter spending, workforce wellness and patient satisfaction, all factoring under the Quadruple Aim.

“Successful cardiovascular care requires dedication to the practice, and flexibility in a field that is continuously changing,” Biga said. “The Cardiovascular Summit aims to provide the full clinician care team with the skills to achieve best business practices and strengthen day-to-day health care delivery outcomes, regardless of practice setting.”

Key note speakers at the conference include:

  • Tasha Eurich, PhD, Founder of the Eurich Group

  • Cheryl Pegus, MD, MPH, Appointed Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovation at NYU Langone Medical Center

  • Jim McKenna, Leadership Coach

  • Michael Chernew, Professor at Harvard Medical School

  • Simon Kos, MBBS, BS (Med), MBA, Chief Medical Officer and Senior Director at Microsoft

The ACC will also host a joint plenary session, “Heart Teams: Partnering for Success” with the presidents of several cardiology subspecialty societies, including the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, Heart Rhythm Society and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
