The German Research Foundation has announced the funding of three Graduate Schools at TU Dresden. On Nov. 11 it has approved the applications from the schools of civil engineering, medicine and computer science.

New Graduate School (GRK) 2250: New construction and strengthening of concrete structures under impact loadings
The central goal of the Graduate School with about 25 scientists is to make existing buildings and structures considerably more resilient through the application of flat, thin-layered reinforcements. The impetus is the elevated danger of short-term dynamic loads e.g. during natural disasters or detonations.

New Graduate School (GRK) 2251: Immunological and Cellular Strategies in Metabolic Disease
The main goal of the research is an improved understanding of pathologically altered body functions with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and type 2 diabetes (T2D). Regenerative and interventional strategies are to be developed in order to halt the progression of the disease or even find a cure.

Continuation: Graduate School 1763 – Quantitative Logics and Automata
The focus is on the exhaustive exploration of quantitative logics and their applicability in computer science, e.g. for modelling of hardware and software systems
