Lugano, Switzerland, 14 June 2018 – ESMO, the leading European professional organisation for medical oncology, has announced that the ESMO 2020 Annual Congress will take place from 18 to 22 September 2020, at the IFEMA – Feria de Madrid, Spain. (1)
The ESMO Congress is the yearly appointment in Europe for clinicians, researchers, patient advocates, journalists and the pharmaceutical industry from all over the world to get together, learn about the latest advances in oncology and translate science into better cancer patient care.
ESMO 2020 follows two congresses in Madrid in 2014 and 2017 and one in Barcelona in 2019. Acknowledging this long-lasting professional relationship, David Noack Pérez, Director of the Madrid Convention Bureau (2) says: "For the third time in our history Madrid will proudly welcome the ESMO Congress and appreciates the opportunity offered by ESMO to demonstrate yet again that our city can successfully host such relevant congresses."
The ESMO 2020 programme will be developed by a committee composed of more than 300 international experts under the leadership of Scientific Chair Prof John Haanen, NKI Amsterdam, Netherlands, a leading expert in the field of immunotherapy.
ESMO invites all oncology stakeholders: researchers, clinicians, industry partners, patient advocates and members of the press to mark their calendars for ESMO 2020 in Madrid.
