Nature has always been full of secrets in the history of mankind, and from time to time, human beings discover some of these mysteries. But there is still much to be discovered to truly understand the secrets of nature. Man has been able to propose important mechanisms based on his current understanding of the mysteries of nature. In this new book How to Design Optimization Algorithms by Applying Natural Behavioural Patterns, the authors have summarized nature-based algorithms for students interested in general science and computer programming enthusiasts. The key premise of this book is the idea that nature is a great source of inspiration for solving problems through optimization.

The book introduces readers to optimization algorithms based on natural language processing. Readers will learn about the basic concept of optimization, optimization algorithm fundamentals and the methods employed to formulate natural ideas and behaviours into algorithms. Readers will learn how to create their own algorithm from the information provided in the text by understanding natural models and constructing equations. The book covers two types of optimization problems, viz. continuous optimization and discrete optimization.

The authors also discuss current algorithms in order to introduce readers to challenging optimization problems. Examples include particle swarm optimization, cuckoo search, and firefly algorithms.
