10,000+ health professionals expected to attend world’s largest radiation oncology meeting

ARLINGTON, Va., June 20, 2019 — The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) will host its 61st Annual Meeting at McCormick Place in Chicago, September 15-18, 2019. The meeting will feature updates on clinical trials, cancer research and new approaches that involve radiation therapy in cancer treatment. Complimentary registration is offered for credentialed news professionals who wish to cover the meeting.

The 2019 ASTRO Annual Meeting is expected to attract more than 10,000 oncologists, clinicians, researchers and other health care professionals from across the globe. Throughout the four-day meeting, researchers will present peer-reviewed abstracts on advances in clinical care for cancer patients, while panels and interactive case discussions featuring leading experts will underscore the meeting’s theme, “Innovate, Collaborate: Transform.”

Reports from clinical trials and other high-impact studies will be featured during three news briefings, on September 15, 16 and 17, which will also be made available via webcast for remote press. The final press program will be announced in early September.

###

Registration for interested news media professionals is contingent on review of credentials by ASTRO. Additional information on press registration and housing are available in the online press kit at http://www.astro.org/astro19press. ASTRO will host an on-site press office during meeting hours, and interview rooms will be available to reserve on a first-come, first-serve basis.

General information about the meeting is available at the ASTRO Annual Meeting webpage, http://www.astro.org/annualmeeting. For questions about the press program, press registration and interview rooms, contact ASTRO’s media relations team at [email protected] or 703-286-1600.
