Experts will offer perspective on clinical practice in Latin America

The American College of Cardiology will host the ACC Latin America Conference in partnership with the Colombian Society of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery in Cartagena, Colombia, from July 25-27, 2019, bringing together top experts to discuss and review new, relevant cardiovascular science pertinent to the region.

The conference, a collaboration between the ACC and 11 ACC chapters in the region, will provide a platform for cardiovascular professionals to increase their knowledge in important areas of practice such as acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, prevention and more. ACC Latin America Conference is an important opportunity for the global cardiovascular community to learn from one another.

Hector Michelena, MD, FACC, and Miguel Urina-Triana, MD, MSc, FACC, will serve as co-chairs of the conference, which will be held at the Centro de Convenciones Cartagena de Indias. More information on the meeting can be found at ACC2019.scc.org.co.

Local researchers will present abstracts on topics pertinent to the region and the broader cardiovascular community. Last year’s abstracts topics included exercise type and heart disease, infective endocarditis and in-hospital mortality and transcatheter aortic valve implantation at a Latin American medical center.
