Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B (APSB) was founded with the goal of creating a global high-level forum centred around drug discovery and pharmaceutical research/application. APSB was included by Chemical Abstracts in 2011, accepted by PubMed Central in 2015, indexed by Science Citation Index in 2017 and has evolved to become one of the most important international journals in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
APSB is a monthly journal, in English, which publishes significant original research articles, rapid communications and high-quality reviews of recent advances in all areas of pharmaceutical sciences — including pharmacology, pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, natural products, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical analysis and pharmacokinetics.
Articles of interest in this issue include:
Bispecific antibody drug conjugates: Making 1+1>2 by Yilin Gu, Zhijia Wang and Yuxi Wang, (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2024.01.009). In comparison to traditional ADCs, bispecific antibody drug conjugates present distinct design considerations and properties as the next-generation ADCs.
ALS-linked C9orf72 dipeptide repeats inhibit starvation-induced autophagy through modulating BCL2–BECN1 interaction by Shiqiang Xu et al. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2024.02.004 ). ALS/FTD-linked C9orf72 DPRs inhibit starvation-induced autophagy by enhancing BCL2–BECN1/Beclin 1 interaction. Under this condition, pharmacological disruption of the interaction between BECN1 and BCL2 can restore autophagy and may therefore reduce C9orf72 DPR-induced neurotoxicity.
Small molecule conjugates with selective estrogen receptor β agonism promote anti-aging benefits in metabolism and skin recovery by Tarik Zahr et al. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2024.01.014). The use of selective estrogen receptor β conjugate agonists in mice provides anti-aging benefits in metabolism and skin health.
5S-Heudelotinone alleviates experimental colitis by shaping the immune system and enhancing the intestinal barrier in a gut microbiota-dependent manner by Qing Meng et al. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2024.02.020). Natural product 5S-heudelotinone alleviated experimental colitis in a gut microbiota-dependent manner. This work provided a novel candidate for the treatment of IBD.
