Targeting Microbiota 2024: Vision, Strategies and Perspectives

The 11th Annual Congress of the International Society of Microbiota (ISM), Targeting Microbiota 2024, is scheduled on October 17-18, at Corinthia Palace Malta. Targeting Microbiota 2024 will not only present the latest advancements but also serve as a pivotal hub for sharing visionary strategies and perspectives that will redefine the landscape of medicine. The Congress promises an immersive experience, offering a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas, insights, and the exploration of innovative approaches that will shape the future of medicine.

A look back on Targeting Microbiota 2023

Last year’s congress on Targeting Microbiota, a pioneering event in Venice and online from October 17-19, marked a significant milestone in microbiota research. Hosted on the picturesque Isola di San Servolo, it united over 278 experts from 27 countries, offering pioneering insights into microbiota’s diverse roles. With thought-provoking discussions and 72 impactful presentations, the event delved into the influence of microbiota on health, disease, and the environment. The intersection of industry and academia highlighted groundbreaking technologies.

 

Outstanding Achievements Awarded at Targeting Microbiota 2023:

  • Best Scientific Contribution Award: Prof. Lena Öhman, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, for her outstanding research on “Fecal Gut Microbiota and Metabolite Signatures as Biomarkers for Gastrointestinal Disorders”.
  • Best Short Oral Presentation Award: Francesca Damiani, Scuola Normale Superiore, Italy for her contribution on “Microbiota Manipulation as a Potential Therapeutic Strategy to Improve Clinical Symptoms in CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder”.
  • Best Poster Presentation Award: Kelly Conde Pérez, The Universitary Hospital of A Coruña, Spain, for her presentation “Parvimonas Micra Translocates From Subgingival Pockets to Tumors in Colorectal Cancer Patients”.
