Oxford University Press and the American Society for Nutrition are pleased to announce a new partnership to publish the society's four prestigious research journals, the Journal of Nutrition, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Advances in Nutrition, and Current Developments in Nutrition, beginning in 2018.

The American Society for Nutrition's portfolio publishes timely and important findings in basic, clinical, and emerging nutrition science research, and features the premier journals in the field of nutrition. In addition to research reports, the portfolio provides commentaries and critical reviews written by leaders in the scientific community and special supplement issues on topics in nutrition.

"Oxford University Press is honored to become a publishing partner to the American Society for Nutrition. With their exceptional usage and citation rates, the journals in the Nutrition Science Collection are ideal additions to the OUP publishing portfolio," said Niko Pfund, president of OUP US. "In light of the efflorescence of interest in the science of nutrition, ASN's work is today more valuable than ever, resting as it does on a long tradition of quality and resultant prestige. OUP looks forward to helping ASN build upon a near-century of publishing success."

ASN President Mary Ann Johnson, Ph.D., also commented on the partnership: "As the American Society for Nutrition's publishing mission enters a new stage of development, we needed a partner and a platform to support growth in new markets, new audiences, and new channels. In Oxford University Press we found an organization with the experience and capabilities to help ASN maintain our editorial leadership in nutrition science while meeting increasing demands across marketing, sales, distribution, and production functions."

The Journal of Nutrition, founded in 1928, was the first journal dedicated to publishing original, peer-reviewed research in all areas of nutrition, and provides the latest research on a broad spectrum of topics of vital interest to researchers, students, policymakers and all individuals with interests in nutrition.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, with a 2016 Impact Factor of 6.925, is the highest ranked peer-reviewed primary research journal in nutrition and dietetics. In publication since 1952, it publishes the latest findings in basic and clinical studies relevant to human nutrition.

Advances in Nutrition, in publication since 2010, publishes review articles that highlight the significance of recent research in nutrition and illustrate the central role of nutrition in the promotion of health and prevention of disease.

Current Developments in Nutrition is a new open access, multidisciplinary nutrition science journal.

The American Society for Nutrition supports its members and fulfills its mission by fostering and enhancing research in animal and human nutrition; providing opportunities for sharing, disseminating, and archiving peer-reviewed nutrition research results (at its annual meeting and in its official publications); fostering quality education and training in nutrition; upholding standards for ethical behavior in research, the protection of human subjects, and the care and treatment of research animals; providing opportunities for fellowship and support among nutritionists; and bringing scientific knowledge to bear on nutrition issues through communication and influence in the public domain.

Oxford Journals is a division of Oxford University Press, which publishes over 350 academic and research journals covering a broad range of subject areas, two thirds of which are published in collaboration with learned societies and other international organizations. Oxford Journals has been publishing journals for more than a century and, as part of the world's largest university press, has more than 500 years of publishing expertise behind it.
