WASHINGTON (May 30, 2019) – PharmedOut, a Georgetown University Medical Center project that advances evidence-based prescribing and educates health care professionals and students about pharmaceutical and medical device marketing practices, hosts “Opioids: Conflicts & Controversies” June 13 – 14.

This interdisciplinary conference brings together health care providers, social scientists, lawyers, and policymakers to discuss cutting edge topics including the tapering of opioids, current opioid marketing, marketing to nurses, opioid promotion in other countries, race and perceptions of the opioid epidemic and the impact of opioids on pregnant women and babies.
