Nutritional and dietary factors have an enormous impact on health, with musculoskeletal diseases, such as osteoporosis, being key considerations.

Nutritional and dietary factors have an enormous impact on health, with musculoskeletal diseases, such as osteoporosis, being key considerations. 

Today, on the occasion of the World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, and Musculoskeletal Diseases in Barcelona, the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) has recognized five young investigators from Switzerland, Belgium, the UK, and Australia, for their outstanding research abstracts in the field of nutrition and musculoskeletal health. The awards each comprise a grant valued at 1000 USD and a certificate of recognition. 

Professor Nicholas Harvey, Chair of the IOF Committee of Scientific Advisors, stated:

“New insights into the role of dietary factors and nutrients in musculoskeletal health and disease may lead to important clinical advances or future preventative strategies. We thank the winners of the IOF Young Investigators Nutrition Research Grants for their excellent contributions and encourage them to continue their important research in the future.”
