(Helmholtz Zentrum München – German Research Center for Environmental Health) Infections during infancy are associated with increased risk for gluten intolerance (celiac disease) later on. Apparently the risk is particularly high in the case of repeated gastrointestinal infections in the first year of life. The study has now been published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.
