During this seminar, in the morning in the Auditorium on the Leganés campus, an event aimed at Secondary School and A Level students will take place. In this event, a number of researchers from UC3M will carry out demonstrations of their scientific work in the areas of bioengineering, IT, robotics and sensor technology. What is more, there will be a "Forum Theatre" show on women and science, hand in hand with the company The Cross Border Project.

In the afternoon, at 19:30 on the Madrid-Puerta de Toledo UC3M campus, there will be a round table with the participation of academics, artists, scientists and technologists in order to address different aspects of the relationship between gender and technology. Those attending will also be able to enjoy audiovisual projections in an improvised cinema theatre inside the campus, as well as finding communication activities on European R+D+I projects from UC3M related to Big Data, wireless communication for robots, the science shops or a system which simulates human behaviour.

These activities are framed around the Madrid European Researchers' Night, a project including numerous free scientific communication activities and which has been celebrated in 340 European cities at the same time since 2005. In the Community of Madrid it is promoted by the Consejería de Educación e Investigación (Council of Education and Research) and coordinated by the Madri+d Foundation. The project is funded by the European Union (EU) within the Horizon 2020 EU Research and Innovation Programme (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions) under subsidy agreement number 818.528. Its main objectives are: bring the researcher figure closer to citizens so they can learn about their work and the benefits it provides for society; encourage scientific vocations for students and promote entrepreneurial spirit.
