Imperial College: Research Fellowship in Lung Mechanics

The Centre for Blast Injury Studies and the Department of Bioengineering wish to appoint an outstanding individual who will establish an international research profile in Lung Mechanics as associated with blast injuries and trauma. This position is funded for a period of four years with a startup package to enable the individual to establish an internationally recognised independent research career.

Candidates should have an advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in Biomechanics, Mechanobiology, Physiology, or an appropriate science or engineering discipline. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to generate and execute research and development at an internationally-leading level. The successful candidate should preferably have knowledge and experience in the science or engineering associated with the mechanics of the lung, tissues, high impact loading, trauma, or blast injuries. It is anticipated that the research programmes will be visionary and have both experimental and theoretical
directions. Demonstrable previous strength in both will be advantageous.
