Carlos Trejo-Pech, an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, is a newly appointed editor of the Journal of Food Distribution Research.

“It is a great honor and big responsibility to serve as a journal editor of a publication outlet in the agricultural economics and agribusiness discipline,” said Trejo-Pech. “We, the editors, are committed to disseminating the results of high-quality research.”

The journal was established in 1969 under the auspices of the Food Distribution Research Society, the only body of scholars and practitioners in the United States dedicated to the study, monitoring and sharing of knowledge related to the global food system.

Indexed by Scopus for its high quality, the journal publishes peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly articles on topics related to agribusiness and food industry research.

Joining the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics in 2016, Trejo-Pech teaches advanced agribusiness finance and agricultural finance and risk management. His research focus includes agribusiness, agricultural economics and finance.

He received an ABA in farm management from United World College in Venezuela; a BS in management and finance from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico; an MAB in agribusiness management from Mississippi State University; an MS in finance from Mississippi State University; and a PhD in food and resource economics from the University of Florida.

Trejo-Pech shares editorship responsibilities with Benjamin Campbell from the University of Georgia and Richard Volpe from California Polytechnic State University. The editorial team was appointed by the Food Distribution Research Society and will serve through 2024.

The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture is composed of UT AgResearch, UT College of Veterinary Medicine, UT Extension and the Herbert College of Agriculture. Through its land-grant mission of research, teaching and extension, the Institute touches lives and provides Real. Life. Solutions. utia.tennessee.edu.
