Future Science Group (FSG) has begun supplying full-text articles to Jisc’s Publications Router service, enabling onward distribution to institutional repositories

All journals published by Future Medicine, Future Science and Newlands Press will henceforward send articles to Jisc’s Publications Router, as they are published, meaning that ahead-of-print and subsequently version of record articles will be available in institutional systems in time to meet REF deadlines. This will apply to both open access and subscription content.

“The open access policy landscape is complicated, and at FSG we feel it is important to provide services to help ensure our authors’ needs are met as efficiently possible, so they can spend less time on administration and more time on their research,” explained Francesca Lake, Head of Open Access Publishing at FSG. “Through the use of Publications Router, authors subject to the relevant open access mandates can rest-assured they’ll be compliant, and meet the conditions of the REF. We’re also hopeful this will ease administrative burden at institutions.”

Publications Router will identify participating institutions from the author affiliations, transform the content to meet the needs of the target institution’s system, and deliver it. All content will be accompanied by its metadata, and subscription content will have a 12-month embargo.
