The 7th annual World Conference on Targeting Phage Therapy, focusing on the latest phage research, challenges, and future directions, is set to convene in Malta. This event will gather leading experts, researchers, and healthcare professionals to discuss advancements in phage therapy applications.

7th World Conference on Targeting Phage Therapy

The 7th annual World Conference on Targeting Phage Therapy, focusing on the latest phage research, challenges, and future directions, is set to convene in Malta. This event will gather leading experts, researchers, and healthcare professionals to discuss advancements in phage therapy applications.

Date: June 20-21, 2024  
Venue: Corinthia Palace, Malta

 

Agenda Highlights:

Day 1 – June 20, 2024

  • Keynote: Exploration of phage, phageome, and phage therapy.
  • Session 1: Analysis of phages and hosts including recent developments.
  • Session 2: Examination of microbiome & phageome interactions, and their medical implications.
  • Round Table: Discussion on establishing a task force for phages and microbiome research.

Day 2 – June 21, 2024

  • Session 3: Trends in phage therapy, including overcoming resistance and clinical study design.
  • Session 4: Presentations on academic and industrial innovations.
  • Session 5: Ethical and regulatory considerations in phage therapy.

 

Statement from the Scientific Board

Marvin Edeas, the President of the  Scientific Board, shared what we’re aiming for with this Phage therapy 2024 conference: “We’re really looking to take phage therapy to the next level, making it useful for a wider range of health issues, beyond just infections. We see phages as a powerful tool for managing the body’s microbiota, which could really revolutionize how we care for patients”.
